Had another go at the Korda backed fishing game now that it has been released, and tbh it's still a bit pants. You still never really feel like you're attached to the fish, which is a trait that has carried through since I tried the first release around a year ago. Using the landing net feels more like trying to ladle soup while blindfolded, and it's seemingly impossible to land a fish if you've reeled it in a little bit too far. Triple hook ups are common place on all the venues, including St Johns which is actually quite tricky in the real world (I should know, I've blanked there!). 1lb roach seem to love 18mm boilies, which also appears to be the largest bait size in the game so far, which is annoying. in fact baits and bait sizes seem to make little difference as to what you catch. The casting mechanism, which I do like the idea of, really doesn't work very well. It seems almost impossible to cast much more than 40 yards, even if I practically push my mouse off the back of my desk and smash it into the wall at 300 mph. And looking at the scores in the casting challenges I'm not the only person that seems to be having issues as I managed 4th in the world on one of them and I thought I'd done terrible. It feels like a game that was made by people that have never even met an angler, let alone been one them self. It just doesn't feel like coarse fishing, at all. It had the backing and the funding that could have made something good, but imo its not even close to being as good as alternatives that have been out for a long time, made by some bloke on his home computer in his spare time, namely fishing simulator and 3d carp. The fish do look pretty cool though, except the bream all seem to be a bit deformed (and appear to be made of lead from the claimed weights!) and the roach have evolved black tails. But I can't fault the carp, cats and tench..
