"Hey Sandman, Why is it that women seemingly have such a difficult time grasping such otherwise simple concepts in video games. By that I mean concepts which should be easy to understand even if they do not play video games. For example, in the Mario Bros. games when you look at a Boo enemy he stops but when you don't look at him he comes after you. That is, for whatever reason a concept my girlfriend could not grasp. Another is in playing the Borderlands games series where it is quite straightforward in what weapons/items are better than others with clear up and down arrows showing which is better yet even after several hours of play time she was incapable of making decisions for herself and would always ask me what to get. I do of course understand for those that have not played video games, at least not much it may take awhile to get used to the intricacies, but I have noticed that even for my guy friends who may not play video games much they catch on MUCH quicker on how the game plays and what to do than any girlfriends I have had who seemingly need to be constantly reminded what button does what or what action does what etc. I realize despite what some articles will say women really don't play "games" outside of Facebook or other very easy to understand type games and they may understand basic games such as those well enough but anything that could be considered advanced maneuvers/actions are completely lost on them, no matter how much or clearly I explain it to them. Sandman, do you have any idea why this may be. Is it fully due to women generally not playing video games or is there more. Thanks!" Well Mr. Anonymous thanks for the donation and topic. Women generally aren't as interested in pushing buttons on a controller unless of course they are the controller and the buttons belong to a man. She has no trouble pushing your buttons but trying to get her to work a joystick if she's not really interested isn't going to work. The only reason she's probably playing games with you is because she's a female chameleon and wants to mirror what you like to get approval and validation from you and build your trust. If she was just as enthusiastic about playing video games as you are or more intelligent then you wouldn't be getting all frustrated by her behavior. I have one friend that married a gamer and girl and she knows how to play, but not because she's doing it for him but because she enjoys playing games herself. While I was growing up I met plenty of gamer girls that know if they looked a Boo in Super Mario Brothers that Boo would stop moving. Girls like that were more interested in playing Super Nintendo then playing with boys because she was unattractive. Top 6 Video Games That Girls Play The Most.
