The Bible is the source for all understanding of Prophecy, and the Revelation of all future events coming upon the face of the Earth. What started in Genesis, in the Revelation by the Spirit of God to Moses, in the Fall of Adam with the prophetic promise of Genesis 3:15, that being another future Adam who would destroy the Enemy of God and restore God’s Authority in the World. This, as typed in the Re-creation, will transpire in like manner over 7 Millenniums, the last of which will be the Day of Rest wherein the Kingdom of God is finally restored, followed by the Eternal Rest of the 8th Day. That Prophecy of Revelation continues to unfold in the history and words of Noah and his three sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth. Ham’s sin is exposed and his son Canaan is pointed out as cursed; perhaps as an explanation for Israel’s appointment to destroy the Canaanites now centuries later in the Promised Land. Regardless, it is clear from Biblical and Historical history that all Ham’s sons are cursed. Ham had 4 sons….Cush, Mizraim, Phut and Canaan. “And he said, Cursed is Canaan, servant of servants shall he be to his brethren.  And he said, Blessed be Jehovah the God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.  Let God enlarge Japheth, and let him dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant” [Genesis 9:25-27]. The Blessing rested upon Shem and Japheth. |--| What is being said is that World history and its present and future state, which we are most interested in, is based upon the prophetic Word of Genesis. As to Ham and his offspring, the origin of Babylon, Egypt, Ethiopia and the nations of Africa can be traced as can their unique correspondence to Noah’s Curse, and the Canaanite nations who later became the pressed servants of Shem. Judges 1:28 being one example, and Joshua 9:27 another. The word “Shem” means “the name.”  Noah speaks of the Lord God of Shem.  It is a hint that Jehovah-God would reveal Himself in connection with the offspring of Shem, that in this family, “The Name” should be made known.  Centuries later, as it relates to Shem’s seed, the Lord said: “I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.”  He also called Himself “their God,” and said to this particular offspring of Shem: “You only have I known of all the families of the earth” [Amos 3: 2], having chosen the seed of Abraham, a son of Shem, to be His peculiar people.  All divine revelation of “His Name” has come to us through them. Japheth became the progenitor of the great Gentile nations.  Japheth means “extended, enlarged.”  “Let God enlarge Japheth, and let him dwell in the tents of Shem and Canaan be his servant.”. The sons of Japheth, were/are the Grecians, Romans, and the Indo- European races.  They are the domineering nations, having controlled the affairs of every continent.  The list of nations given in Genesis, chapter 10. But of particular interest to us, as we study the Beginnings of Prophecy as played out in the Book of Revelation, is the utterance of Noah that the descendants of Japheth “shall dwell in the tents of Shem.”  Prophecy and History have shown that through Shem, Japheth is to receive and share the promised blessing.  The Gentile nations, make up all but that one Nation, Israel, were without God, without Christ and without hope in the world. [Ephesians 2:10] After The Name which is above every other name had been revealed among the Jews - when He, who is the son of David and the son of Abraham, as concerning the flesh, had come to His own and His own received Him not, then the salvation, which is of the Jews, (John 4: 22) passed on to the greater Gentile world. In this way, Japheth dwells in the tents of Shem. Prophecy in one way, reveals the glorious future of an earthly kingdom of righteousness and peace. Shem’s family, Israel, will receive that kingdom and Jerusalem will be its glorious capital. The Japhetic races will be gathered into that earthly Millennial kingdom, for it is written of that coming day.  “And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising” [Isaiah 60:3] (See Acts 15:16-18…. this is that which is the “After this…” of vs 16).
